Executive Director

Andee Huxhold

Andee is a South Bend native who brings a deep commitment to justice reform, equity, and building community. She holds a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Justice Reform from Vermont Law & Graduate School and an undergraduate degree in Social & Behavioral Sciences. With a strong background in advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement, her leadership is guided by restorative justice principles and a belief in human dignity and belonging. Inspired by her own experience growing up with a close family member cycling in and out of incarceration — and ultimately losing them as a teenager — Andee is dedicated to creating spaces where everyone has the opportunity to heal, grow, and be seen as whole.

Director of Community Empowerment

Andrea Gordon

Andrea, a South Bend native and 2015 Dismas House graduate, is the Director of Community Empowerment, overseeing daily operations at The Dismas Hub. Her experience as a former resident, board member, and board president allows her to collaborate effectively with leadership, ensuring smooth operations and open communication across the organization.  She brings expertise in real estate, business administration, marketing, and graphic design. Outside of work, Andrea enjoys art, her loyal companion “Chief,” and time with her two grown children. Her mission at The Dismas Hub is to foster belonging, support reintegration, and strengthen Dismas House’s presence in the community.

Supportive Services Coordinator

Sierra Stone

Sierra returns to this role after completing a live-in summer internship in 2024.A graduate of Saint Mary’s College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology and a minor in Justice Studies, Sierra is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Saint Mary’s as well. In her role, she acts as a bridge between administration and resident life, working to foster a comfortable, inclusive environment where all voices are heard. As a case manager, she supports residents in meeting personal goals, accessing resources, and preparing for successful reentry. Sierra is passionate about advocacy, connection, and creating a space where every individual feels seen, supported, and empowered.

Director of Resident Life

Jose "Hameem" Otero

​Jose graduated from Dismas House’s program in 2024 and now serves as Director of Resident Life, overseeing the daily experience and well-being of all residents. In this role, he helps ensure the house is safe, supportive, and rooted in community, while fostering accountability and belonging. Jose plays a key role in mentoring Senior Residents, building leadership capacity, and shaping a positive, growth-focused house culture. A skilled artist in music and graphic design, he brings creativity, calm, and a trauma-informed approach to his work. Outside Dismas, Jose also works with The Last Mile, reflecting his deep commitment to second chances and empowering others on their reentry journeys.

Community Relations Manager

Clinton "CeCe" Bell

CeCe graduated from Dismas House’s program in 2025 and is deeply committed to supporting individuals coming home after incarceration. Originally from Chicago, he now calls South Bend home, spending time in the community building relationships with neighbors and learning how Dismas can better support them. He serves on the boards of Milkweed Gardens Inc., the Monroe Park Neighborhood Association, and Odom Community Developers, and is a Communications student at Indiana University South Bend. Passionate about advocacy and community building, CeCe is dedicated to amplifying stories of hope, strengthening connections, and creating spaces where all can thrive.

Case Management Coordinator

Amanda Crockett

Amanda first joined Dismas House in 2015 as an intern and has remained connected ever since, serving on the Review Committee before officially joining the staff in 2024. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies and a Master of Public Affairs with concentrations in Nonprofit Management and Government Administration, both from Indiana University South Bend.

Guided by a deep belief in equity, dignity, and the power of second chances, Amanda is committed to creating environments where every person has the opportunity to rebuild and thrive. In her role at Dismas House, she conducts assessments to ensure residents’ needs are fully understood and develops policy that promotes fairness, clarity, and structure.​

 

With a background in mental health and higher education, Amanda also serves as the Assistant Director of Career Services at Saint Mary’s College. The mission of Dismas House has been a meaningful part of her life for a decade, so much so that her daughter, who began visiting the house at age six, now sixteen, has grown up witnessing what community and belonging look like in action.

President

John Butler

John Butler previously served as Board President and returns to lead Dismas House with his steady presence and direct, thoughtful approach. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology and over a decade of experience in public service, John is deeply dedicated to creating opportunities for growth and change. His connection to Dismas runs deep, shaped by a strong belief in second chances and witnessing residents transform into friends, peers, and community leaders. Beyond board leadership, John is known for always lending a hand — from quick repairs to new program ideas — and for bringing energy, focus, and a spirit of joy to every conversation. He is committed to building on Dismas’ 30+ years of impact and ensuring it remains a place where hope truly finds a home.

Vice President

Janielle Miller

With nearly three decades in higher education, Janielle Miller brings a deep commitment to equity, belonging, and systemic change to her role as Vice President of the Dismas House Board. Her career has been rooted in the belief that education is a powerful tool for transformation — both individual and societal. Through her leadership in academic advising, student services, and policy, she has focused on breaking down barriers and opening doors, especially for those historically excluded from opportunity.

A passionate advocate for justice reform, Janielle’s work at Dismas is woven with her dedication to meeting returning citizens with dignity, support, and a true sense of belonging. She is a steadfast believer in second chances and in the critical role community plays in successful reentry. Her voice on the board reflects her unwavering belief in the human capacity for change and her vision of a society where every person — regardless of their past — is given the opportunity to grow, contribute, and thrive.​​​​​​
